NFO (Norwegian Forest Cats)
Norwegian Cats have amazing glance, splendid fur and lovely character. They are exceptionaly inteligent, clever and social. They are cats with mixed features of a lynx, a fox and a wildcat.
Norwegian Cats are living legends, often mentioned in Nordic mythology and in fairytales, where they are living alongside Scandinavian's gods and nymphs.
Some of this tales are speaking about big "forest" cat with sharp eyes and furry tail. Therefore, they called this beautifull animals with a name of HULDREKATEN, which means "magic cats".
Norwegian Cats were inseperable companions of Vikings and it's said that they brought them along on their ships to Normady and America. These cats are acknowledged as one of the most precious treasures in Norway. Today they are still living free in the Scandinavian's forrests, hunting and catching fishes, contriving perfectly to this harsh land.
In 1976 this breed was recognized by international organization of cat breeders - Federation Internationale Feline (FIFe). In 1990 ended introducion of blood of "wild" cats. Not so later norwegian cats conquered the whole world. First pair of Norwegian Cats came to Poland in year 1990.
